<--Quote Dr. Nick from 'The Simpsons'--> "Hi Everybody!" I'm James, I was born in Australia. Before coming to Thailand for so-called 'early retirement', I had a succession of reasonably successful businesses, all service related and the latest in I.T.

Although I support mainly Microsoft systems, I am almost as well versed in Mac and Linux. I count as my best attribute, my ability to learn what I need to know, over and above that which I already know.

I've been in I.T. and related industries since 1995 and have experience which pre-dates that. I have numerous qualifications, certificates, awards, etc. etc... blah, blah, blah... none of which mean much to me, since I learned more from 'tinkering' and 'figuring it out by my self' than I ever learned from any of the various courses I needed to complete in order to acquire those assorted pieces of paper.
One of the earliest positions I held was as a service engineer for an Apple Macintosh specialist, in Melbourne, Australia. This left me with a deep and enduring respect for the marque. Having already acquired a similar respect for Linux and other "UNIX-like" operating systems, I was very pleased when, in 2001, Apple released OS-X Cheetah (OS-X is based on BSD-Unix), As disappointing as Cheetah was... fortunately, subsequent versions have been excellent!.
However, the main focus of my studies has always been Microsoft, because, as I have said before,
"There's no point being the best Farrari mechanic in town, when everyone is driving a Ford".
